Support the Library:
University Library Opportunity Fund
Your gift to the Library Opportunity Fund will support our students’ most pressing needs. For some it is books and learning spaces. For others, it is digital content and access to online memberships. Your gift will support inspiration, scholarly resources, and a thriving student community.
Science & Engineering Library Renovation
The Science & Engineering Library, as it is currently configured, is not optimized to serve the needs of 21st-century researchers and learners. The S&E Library renovation includes more group study areas, improved ADA accessibility, compact shelving, new carpet and furniture, improved access to electricity for all seats, and a permanent home for the Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio.
Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio
Located within the Science & Engineering Library, the Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio (DSI) is a space for UC Santa Cruz students from all disciplines to create, experiment, explore, and bring their imaginations to life. The DSI provides a judgment-free learning zone with access to knowledgeable peers available for support at every step of the way. Through the DSI, students gain access to technology that allows them to explore worlds, expand knowledge, and consider their future without limitation, irrespective of their academic path.
