Support the Library:

Library Acquisition Fund
By contributing to the Library’s Acquisition Fund, you will help us expand access to textbooks, literature, and other essential course materials to UCSC students.

Science & Engineering Library Renovation
A key resource for our students and faculty—the Science & Engineering Library—has been outpaced by rapid changes in technology, the workplace, and experiences that shape how science is explored and studied. We want to change that. Our goal is to transform it into a new center of academic discovery, interactive technology, collaboration, and social connection that serves today’s diversity of students.

Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio
Located within the Science & Engineering Library, the Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio (DSI) is a space for UC Santa Cruz students from all disciplines to create, experiment, explore, and bring their imaginations to life. The DSI provides a judgment-free learning zone with access to knowledgeable peers available for support at every step of the way. Through the DSI, students gain access to technology that enables them to explore worlds, expand their knowledge, and consider their future without limitation, regardless of their academic path.

Special Collections and Archives
Special Collections & Archives preserves, shares, and promotes the Library's unique primary sources for the use of UCSC's academic community and the general public. Collections include the University Archives, photographs, maps, rare books, and the archives of many individuals and organizations.

Elizabeth Remak-Honnef Center for Archival Research and Training (CART) Endowment
The CART program integrates primary-source materials more fully into the university's teaching and research mission by providing hands-on experience for graduate students and enhancing access to archival collections for all.

The Collectors Club
The Collectors Club is a group of supporters dedicated to growing the holdings of the Library's Special Collections & Archives.

University Library Opportunity Fund
Your gift to the Library Opportunity Fund will support our students’ most pressing needs. For some, it is books and learning spaces. For others, it is digital content and access to online memberships. Your gift will support inspiration, scholarly resources, and a thriving student community.

Grateful Dead Archive
The Grateful Dead Archive, given to UC Santa Cruz by the Grateful Dead, comprises nearly a thousand boxes of documents and recordings, as well as hundreds of objects, equipment, and framed art, all created or collected by the band's members. The Archive also includes a collection of photographs, posters, and other ephemera. The Archive is open to the public and is available for research.
