Page and Lynn Stegner American Literature Endowment

Established by Page and Lynn Stegner

This subject endowment was established in the names of writers Page and Lynn Stegner, whose novels and nature writing have enriched American literature and carried on the tradition of creativity and service established by Page’s father, Wallace Stegner. The purpose of the endowment is to provide enriched support for UCSC library collections in American literature.

Endowment income is used to acquire additional novels, novellas, short story and poetry collections, critical works, subscriptions to journals and series, and other items that will lend depth, character, and distinction to the library’s American literature collection. This expanded acquisitions program will help foster the continued production of serious works of American literature including first, “mid-list,” and regional novels and other worthy titles neglected by the publishing, academic, or critical establishment.
