Established in loving memory of Candy Issenman Coonerty to provide a permanent memorial to her special literary and philosophical interests and deeply-felt commitment to books, family, faith, and community. Candy was a devoted book lover, a valued member of the Friends of the UCSC Library Board of Directors, and an affectionate daughter, wife, and mother, whose creative contributions are greatly missed.

Endowment funds provide enriched support for UCSC library collections with a primary focus on Judaica and Jewish social and intellectual history, publishing and the history of the book, community studies and community building, and the history and sociology of the family.
