New EBSCO ebooks app for downloading ebooks offline

The new Thorium Reader will replace Adobe Digital Editions

To download ebooks for offline reading from EBSCO, you must now use Thorium Reader – EBSCOhost will present a passphrase to copy to open the ebook in Thorium.

This app replaces Adobe Digital Editions for offline reading.

To download an entire ebook from EBSCO for offline reading, you will need to: 

  1. Access an EBSCO ebook title and sign in with your CruzID Gold
  2. Install the new Thorium Reader on your computer (Follow the Installation guide)
  3. Activate e-book licenses with a unique passphrase. This passphrase will be generated upon full-text download of an LCP-DRM e-book and can be used on up to six devices simultaneously for access to active checkouts
  4. You can now download your ebook for offline reading
