The Library Service Desk is Moving 

Beginning on 8/31, the S&E Library public service desk will be permanently relocated to the first floor (lowest level) of the S&E Library building. This places the service desk on the same floor as the Library’s Digital Scholarship Innovation Studio. 
 

A New, Additional Entryway to the S&E Library Space 

The service desk relocation adds a new, additional entryway to the building. The library’s lower level ADA door will become the main entrance to the library space. You may still enter the building from the doors you are accustomed to using on the second level, but to talk to library staff or check out materials, you will need to proceed to the first floor. 
 

New S&E Library Public Service Desk Hours 

• Library Service Desk Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 5pm 
• All levels open and staffed by the Campus Safety Ambassadors program from Monday-Thursday 5pm to 11:30pm, Friday 5pm to 8pm, Saturday 12pm-8pm, Sunday 10am-11:30pm 
   

Impacts 

In order to ensure that students, staff, and faculty retain access to their course reserve and ILL requests for the maximum number of hours possible, all course reserve items and all ILL books and holds will be held at McHenry Library (consolidating the pick-up location into one library). Timeline 

• 8/20 - pickup locations for ILL books and holds will default to McHenry 
• 8/31 - the main service desk at the S&E Library will move to the lower level - intersession hours remain in effect until the start of the school year. 
• Fall quarter - pickup location for course reserve materials will default to McHenry
