This subject endowment was established in honor of the donors’ beloved parents, Alec and Phyllis Ritch and Harold and Annette Gordon, to provide enriched support for library collections in areas at the boundaries of the traditional disciplines. These areas include human ecology, environmental studies, landscape history, and medical anthropology—subjects that transcend the conventional and false opposition of science and humanism. Endowment income is used to acquire library materials in all formats, particularly those that have been traditionally under funded in academic libraries.
