Clare M. Wedding Oceania Art and Culture Endowment

This endowment is established in loving memory of Clare Marie Wedding, a 2009 graduate of Porter College, who had a special love for the art and visual culture of Oceania.  This passion was ignited by her professor, Dr. Stacy Kamehiro.  Clare passed from this world in 2012 while in Aotearoa/New Zealand.  Her parents, Randolph and Celia Wedding, established the Clare M Wedding Oceania Art and Culture Endowment as a memorial to their daughter.

The purpose of the Clare M. Wedding Oceania Art and Culture Endowment is to support the continued collection of visual studies journals and all formats of library materials that support the interdisciplinary study of Oceanic/Pacific Island visual cultures.  In addition to art, art history and culture, subject areas of interest can include, but are not limited to, the anthropology, archaeology and history of Oceania.  This endowment provides UC Santa Cruz students and faculty with the resources they need to better understand and appreciate Oceania.
