In Google Scholar:

  1. Click on the Scholar Preferences link.
  2. Under Bibliography Manager select the option Show links to import citations into and choose EndNote in the drop down box.
  3. Click on the Save Preferences button.
  4. After performing a search on Google Scholar click on the Import into EndNote link for the reference you want to import.
  5. When you are presented with a window asking if you want to "Open" or "Save" the file, choose to save the file. Each reference is saved as a separate file.

In EndNote Basic:

  1. Open your EndNote Basic library.
  2. Select the Collect tab, Import References.
  3. Use the Browse button to select the file you saved above. Click Open.
  4. Under Filter click on the drop-down list and select EndNote Import.
  5. Select a group/folder to put the records in. Click Import.
