UCSC is a participant in several mass digitization projects via the University of California and the California Digital Library.
UC joined the Google Book Search Project in August 2006. Digitization began in November. In November 2007, UCSC became the first campus to contribute books as a part of the UC-Google project. Our first volumes were sent to Google for scanning in January 2008.
Currently, the project is scanning volumes from the Northern Regional Library Facility (including UCSC materials housed there), UCSC, UCSD, and UCLA.
