General Description: 
Contains correspondence, manuscripts, musical scores, and art work by the American composer Lou Harrison, as well as clippings and reviews about his music and performances. Only Series 1 - Music Manuscripts and Series 2 - Notebooks are currently open for research. Series 1 contains autograph music scores, sketches and revisions produced by Harrison during his seventy-five years of writing music. Series 2, the "Notebook" series, consists of over 140 legers, artist's pads, and journals spanning 1934 to 2003.
