Visual Resource Collection Acquisition and Copyright
Visual material is purchased from commercial vendors, galleries, and museums, or donated to the University Library. Source documentation indicating where material has been obtained can be furnished. Slide vendor catalogs are available for reference within the Visual Resource Collection. For further information about ordering slides for instructional use please contact VRC staff.
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, US Code, 1976) and the International Berne Convention govern the making of copies of copyrighted material. The University of California complies with copyright law, which prohibits the copying of slide material that is under copyright protection without specific written authorization from the copyright holder.
Making Personal Slides on the Copy Stand A copy stand and a 35 mm camera are available for use by patrons who wish to make their own slides or prints. The following guidelines should be observed: |
