Road in Tuscany Branson DeCou Archive UCSC Visual Resource Collection Visual Resource Collection About Us The Visual Resource Collection, a unit within the University Library's Special Collections and Archives Section, serves the entire campus community. Since its founding in the late 1960s, the Collection's mission has been to fulfill the visual resource needs of faculty and students in support of teaching, research, and University service. Visual resource material includes over 300,000 slides from all disciplines, time periods, and most cultural groups. Current holdings and new acquisitions reflect the University's instructional requirements and recent scholarly research activity. SlideCat, the Visual Resource Collection's catalog database, provides Internet access to the Collection's content. Collection staff provide reference assistance in locating images and facilitate the production and acquisition of visual resource material.
