Off Campus Access Login | FAQ

Starting in September 18 2006, the UCSC Library is implementing a new service to provide remote access to licensed databases and journals called Off Campus Access. This new service is easier and faster than SlugLink. We recommend library users remove SlugLink from their browser configurations now.

REMOVING SLUGLINK PROXY CONFIGURATION

First, select your browser and platform from the list below:

* In Firefox for Windows, go to Tools > Options > General > Connection Settings > check box for "Direct Connection to the Internet." See screenshots.

* In Firefox for Mac, go to Firefox > Preferences > General > Connection Settings > check box for "Direct Connection to the Internet." See screenshots.

* In Internet Explorer for Windows, go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings (or just "Settings" for dial-up users) > Uncheck the box next to “Use automatic configuration script” and/or "Use a proxy server..." See screenshots.

* In Netscape for Windows, go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Proxies > check box for "Direct Connection to the Internet." See screenshots.

* In Netscape 7 for Mac, go to the Netscape menu > Preferences > Advanced > Proxies > check box for "Direct Connection to the Internet." See screenshots.

* In Opera for Windows, go to Tools > Quick preferences > uncheck "Enable proxy servers."

* In Opera for Mac, go to Opera > Quick preferences > uncheck "Enable proxy servers."

* In Safari, go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Network > Configure > Proxies > Uncheck box next to "Web Proxy (HTTP)." See screenshots.
