Equipment Laptop computers may be used anywhere in McHenry Library. Laptops may not leave the building. The normal loan period is approximately 2 hours (rounded to nearest hour). Laptops will stop circulating one hour before the closing of the library. End-of-the-day loans must be returned 15 minutes before closing. Laptops do not circulate overnight. Renewals
are allowed when there is no one waiting.
Overdue charges of $4.00 for the first hour or partial hour and $1.00 for each hour or partial hour thereafter (to a maximum of $25.00) are assessed if the laptop is not returned on time. There is no grace period. Loss, damage, or defect must be reported to the Circulation Desk immediately. Printing is available from the laptop to the public printers in the library. You will need to be connected to the campus network through CruzNet Wireless. Charges are $.10 per page and you'll need a Slug Copy/Print Card to pay for the print jobs. Please do not leave laptops unattended. You are responsible for the laptop checked out to you. The Library is not responsible for loss while the equipment is checked out to you. Personal software may not be loaded onto the laptop. No user files will be retained on the hard disk. For technical questions about operation of the library laptops, please go to the Library Computing Help Desk, located near the Circulation Desk. Please report any hardware or software problems to library staff when returning the laptop. Back to the top |
