How to Renew


UCSC Books and Periodicals

Items checked out from the McHenry or S&E stacks can be renewed:

In Person-By Bringing your library card or items to be renewed to the Circulation Desk at McHenry or S&E library.



By Phone-Call the Circulation Desk where you checked the item out:

Phone renewals can be made during the library's open hours. When you call be sure to have your library card on hand. The Circulation staff member you speak with will be asking for the last 7 digits of your barcode number.

OnLine-Online renewals can be made 24 hours a day 7 days a week from anywhere in the world! Point your browser to http://cruzcat.ucsc.edu/patroninfo.html

For an online renewal you will need to enter your name and barcode number.

If your barcode number begins or ends with an A, do not include the A.



There is no limit to the number of renewals you can make. However, you will be prevented from renewing an item if another patron has placed a hold and/or recall on it.



ILL

Interlibrary Loan items are materials that are borrowed from other libraries (not UCSC) or from UCSC's remote storage locations. You can place a renewal request for these items at http://library.ucsc.edu/services/ill/


Reserves

Reserve material may be renewed for an additional loan period if there are no holds placed on it. All renewals must take place in person at the Reserve Desk where the material was checked out.

Media

UCSC faculty and their proxies may check-out Film and Music Center materials for up to three days only and renewals must be made in person.
