Computer Networks by Andrew Tanenbaum

This was the book used in the class that introduced me to Computer Networks and got me interested in the subject, which became my main area of research. Even though the book has been around for a while (the second edition came out in 1988), it is quite thorough. It is actually the book we use in the undergraduate Introduction to Computer Networks class we teach at the School of Engineering (it is already in its fourth edition).
