Designer's Notes

This year's Honored Faculty/Honored Books site was designed by Laura Campbell
a member of the S&E Library Map Room.

The background wallpaper was designed using classic science formulas from Einstein, Newton,
Planck, Wein, and more. The background color is reminiscent of the
main color of the S&E Library home page.

Bryn Kanar, the Web Developer for the UCSC Library, designed the original Honored Faculty/Honored
Books site. He developed the graphic, seen here on the upper left, which is used on all the
Honored Faculty/Honored Books pages, as well as on the commemorative t-shirts. He indicates it
"celebrates the imaginative side of science. It comes from an article about the possibility of creating a
'perpetual motion' machine."
