Selected: Gödel, Escher, Bach : An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter

This book, read my last summer as an undergraduate, first got me interested in AI. It showed me that my interdisciplinary interests could be possibly satisfied within this subfield of Computer Science. It also illustrated to me that computation as an abstraction is more mathematics than hardware.
