Selected: Pleistocene Extinctions: The Search for A Cause Edited by Martin and Wright
This
book provided the first systematic look at causes for the extinction
of so many large animals around the world over the past 50,000 years,
which has made the world a significantly less diverse and less interesting
place. The papers in this volume articulate the main alternative
hypotheses for the extinction, and point to fruitful ways to test
these ideas.
