Request Material from the Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF)

The Northern Regional Library Facility (NRLF) is a University of California off-site cooperative library storage facility located in Richmond. Materials from UCSC (as well as UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, and UC Davis) are deposited into NRLF. Items that are stored at NRLF will have the location "NRLF Storage" in Cruzcat, with a status of either "REQUEST AT ILL" or "ASK AT SPECCOL" or "ASK AT MEDIA."

Requested material, except for Special Collections material, is brought to the library through the Interlibrary Loan service for patron pickup or use in approximately two working days. If there is a problem with your request, you will be contacted by Interlibrary Loan staff.

Are you a UCSC faculty, staff, or student with a current library account?

From Cruzcat: If the status of the material is REQUEST AT ILL, then click on "NRLF Storage"; click "Go to Melvyl" or "Citation Linker forms" and follow directions. Special Collections material is non-circulating and must be used in the Reading Room during open hours. If the status is ASK AT MEDIA, place the request using the Interlibrary Loan Manual Form.

From Melvyl: Click on the button above the title and follow the directions.

From WorldCat : Click on the Libraries Worldwide link. Then click on the link and follow the instructions above in "From Cruzcat." Or click on and then on Check the UCSC Library Catalog: CRUZCAT under Find a Print Copy. Then follow the instructions for above under "From Cruzcat."
