General Information:
UCSC's Online Archive of California (OAC) Unit, established on July 1st, 2000, is a lively part of the family of units within the University Library that make up the Special Collections and Archives Section. We are involved with the behind the scenes work readying the Library's unique collections and archives for use by the academic and surrounding communities.
The OAC Unit's goals are:
- To process UCSC's archives and then to create finding aids for them.
- To provide online access to UCSC's archives by encoding the finding aids.
- To identify preservation needs for the physical archives.
- To serve as the liaison between the statewide OAC and UCSC's archives.
- To work towards a strong representation of UCSC's archives online.
- To slay the dragon du jour with dispatch and plenty of style.
