McHenry Library Addition and Renovation Blog

McHenry Library Access Services has spent the last year preparing for the consolidated service desk as presented in the building plans for the addition and renovation. This means McHenry Reserves, Interlibrary Loan, and Circulation services will all be available from a single service point beginning Monday, August 7th. Staff members are trained on all three services and they anticipate that patrons will benefit greatly from the ease of accessing all of their services at a single desk.

The primary contact number for McHenry Access Services will be 831-459-5185, which has been the main number for the Circulation Desk. However, there will likely be times during this transition when it will be more expedient to reach an Interlibrary Loan, Circulation, or McHenry Reserves expert. For those times, please feel free to use the following contact numbers:

They have begun laying the rebar for Mat #1 (the first pour of the foundation slab, on the east side of the addition). Utilities will be placed when the ironwork is completed. The concrete pour for Mat #1 should happen in mid-August.

Work continues on leveling and treating the building pad and chipping away at excess concrete on the columns along the southeast wall of the building. This is being done before they install more re-bar and begin constructing forms for a new concrete wall that will be poured.
