Weather permits excavation work to resume

cherryblossoms.jpg

With the sunny respite from the recent inclement weather, work has started again on the McHenry Library Addition construction site. The site clearing work is continuing and the excavation is beginning on the south side. Trucks will begin hauling dirt from the site and taking it to the staging area at the Performing Arts parking lot, the East Remote parking lot, and off campus.

Next week work will begin to drill and epoxy connecting dowels into the foundation of the existing building (on the south side of the building). The dowels are made out of steel rebar and will be used to connect the existing building foundation to the contiguous foundation of the "new" Addition.

As we receive additional information we will share it with you. Questions? Please contact us.
