Parking & Directions to the Map Room

1. Hope to find an hourly "Pay Station" parking space in the
Core West parking garage on the corner of Heller and McLaughlin Drive.
On the map the garage is called "Core West Parking Structure". These spaces are on the 2nd level.
Bring dollar bills or lots of quarters to buy a permit from the machine at the east end of the garage (near the elevator). Limited to 2 hours.

2. Visitors may also purchase "A" parking permits for $5 per day, which allow you to park wherever you can find a space (except reserved, carpool, and disabled spaces).
Currently permits may be purchased from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Stop at the red kiosk building about 200 yards inside the main campus entrance at Bay & High Streets.
Programs and permits can be purchased by cash, check and credit cards (Mastercard & Visa accepted).

Due to the high volume of construction on campus, many parking lots are gone, including those which had meters.

Note: Beginning 9/1/05 you will need a permit until 8:30 p.m. in most lots. More info here.
Parking for visitors with disabilities is available at the north end of the Science & Engineering Library.

UC Santa Cruz does recognize parking permits from other UC campuses - be sure your permit is displayed, perhaps with a note next to it stating which campus it is from.

Directions to the Library

 The Map Room is on the lower floor of the Science & Engineering Library. [map]

From the Parking Garage:
Walk east, exiting the garage past the elevator.
Follow the sidewalk toward the large gray building ahead.
Cross the street, walk between the gray building and the orange building.
The Library [photo] will be in front of you, and the entrance is up the stairs to your right.
