Directions to Santa Cruz | Getting from the airport to Santa Cruz | Directions to the Seymour Center | Visting UCSC | Public  Transportation in Santa Cruz

All meetings will be held at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center in Santa Cruz

The Norman Y. Mineta San José International Airport (SJC) is the closest airport to Santa Cruz. It is a 45-60 minute drive to Santa Cruz. The San Francisco International Airport and the Monterey Peninsula Airport are two other possible aiports to fly into. The San Francisco Airport adds about 1.5 hours to your drive to Santa Cruz. The Monterey Peninsula Airport is small and flights are more expensive.

Exit the San José Airport by going South on Airport Blvd. Turn left onto Coleman and merge immediately to the right lane and merge onto Highway 17 Freeway entrance. Follow Hwy 17 to Santa Cruz. (the drive should take approximately 45-60 minutes unless there is heavy traffic.)

Take Hwy 1 North (sign will say Half Moon Bay.) Stay in the right lane and go right on Mission Street. Follow the directions to the Seymour Center, the UC Santa Cruz campus or your hotel from here.


Getting from the airport to Santa Cruz
Plan to take the Santa Cruz Airporter or rent a car. A taxi ride will be too expensive.

Santa Cruz Airporter:
A shuttle bus service that will take you directly to your hotel, UCSC, or the Seymour Center. They pick up from both San Francisco Airport (SFO) and San Jose Airport (SJC). Reservations are necessary.

Directions to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center at Long Marine Laboratory
All meetings will be held at the Seymour Center.

Follow the directions to Santa Cruz. Continue north on Mission Street through town. Turn left on Swift Street. Turn right on Delaware Avenue. Follow Delaware to the Long Marine Lab entrance at the end of the road.

Parking at the Seymour Center is free and plentiful!


Visiting the UC Santa Cruz campus
Directions to campus
Follow the directions to UC Santa Cruz. Follow Mission three Stop lights to Bay Street-turn right on Bay and follow it all the way to the entrance of the University. The main entrance to campus is straight ahead and the West entrance will be a left-hand turn at the four-way light. To purchase a parking permit, enter through the main entrance.

Parking at UC Santa Cruz
Parking can be difficult to find at UC Santa Cruz. Plan to walk a fair amount from your car. Map of parking lots at UCSC.

Consider taking the bus to campus from your hotel or from the Seymour Center.


Public Transportation in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz has an excellent city bus system, the Metro Santa Cruz. The fare is $1.00. See the Metro Santa Cruz website for routes and other information. Note that school will not be in session, so buses that are marked "ST" for school term only will not be running.
