This is the back corner of the Map Room. From the right are: the wall map cases, the oversized map drawers (the two-tiered stack), regular map cases, old microfiche cabinets (which have been replaced by much better looking cabinets), the microfiche reader) and more map cases.
This is one of our geological consultants, standing a bit to the left of the previous photograph; this is the middle back of the maproom. You can see the map tables we have around the room.
This is another geological consultant. We've moved farther left. In the foreground is the atlas stand. The back right shows our one tub case; the workroom/storage room; and the media area (right behind the consulant), with 2 pc's, a Mac, a scanner, a color printer, a photocopier and various useful office items such as a pencil sharpener and paper cutter.
We've turned almost 180 degrees from the second picture. Behind the pillar is the reference area, with a pc and a work area. Farther back is one of the book stacks. Directly in front of us is a book stand with large format aerial maps. The vertical files on the left hold most of our aerial photographs. At the extreme left side is a desk that holds our stereoscope.
These are the oversize atlases that live right outside the Map Room. You can see the Map Room offices directly behind them.
