Alaska Weather

Weather varies a lot by region and can be quite changeable. It should be dry, but be prepared if it is not. Check weather sources frequently.

Lows should be slightly below freezing. Highs could be in the 50s and 60s.
Complete Alaska weather is covered in detail by the National Weather Service, Alaska Regional Headquarters. For Fairbanks and Denali, click on Public Forecasts in the left-hand menu bar , then choose "FPAK53PAIG: Interior Alaska Zone" on the new page.

Note on Auroras: Auroras occur year round but excessive daylight and/or cloud cover usually obscure their visibility. September is often a very good month so keep your fingers crossed. The Geophysical Institute at UAF maintains a web page for daily aurora forecasts during the months of visibility.
