Wednesday September 7

• Executive Board meeting, 1-4 p.m.
• Early Bird Event: The Large Animal (i.e. Muskox and Caribou) Research Center. Participants may be asked to split the cost of private transportation.

Thursday September 8

• Speaker topics:
  • Creation of the Circum-polar Arctic Vegetation Map
  • MapTeach: a project incorporating native knowledge into several mapping projects
  • Mapping Anthropological Sites and Native Place Names
  • Alaska Maps in K-12 Education
• PM - Business Meeting / Sounding Board
  • UAF Discovery Lab (High tech 3-D contour and data presentations.
  • Historical Maps from the UAF Archives
• Dinner at the Pump House Restaurant.

Friday September 9

• Train to Denali National Park. We will probably have to leave the hotel by 6:30 AM or so. There is full meal service on the train.
• Train arrives at Denali NP about 12:15 PM.
• Lunch and afternoon session at the Murie Science and Learning Center inside the park.
• Hotel for Friday and Saturday night about a mile outside the park. They will provide shuttle service.
• This will still be prime tourist season for the park. I have been assured there will be lots of food options and long hours of operations. Therefore the rest of the meals will be on your own.

Saturday September 10

• All day bus trip inside the park.
• You will be responsible for making and paying for your own reservation through the official Park Service reservation system. See Visitor Information for helpful hints on making reservations.
• Sack lunches will be available at the hotel
• Informal supper get together at a Pizza place on the highway tourist strip.

Sunday September 11

• AM on your own.
• Train back to Fairbanks leaves about 3:45, arriving 8:15 PM. Full meal service on the train.
