The designated Fairbanks hotel is Pike’s Waterfront Lodge, 1850 Hoselton Drive, Fairbanks 99709.
You will need to make your own reservations and pay for them yourself. They are holding a block of rooms for the nights of September 7, 8, and 11 at a conference discount of $75 per night plus tax. There may not be a conference code assigned, so identify yourself as associated with WAML.
Note: One of the most popular airline flights leaves Fairbanks for Seattle around 2 AM. By taking this, you could save one night's lodging at the end of the conference.
Pike’s has an airport shuttle and full dining service. Pike’s is almost exactly 1 mile from the airport terminal. It is an easy comfortable walk if you don’t have much luggage. From the baggage claim area, walk to your right, take the Old Airport Road past the car rental shops and Fedex building, and cross the main road at the time and temperature sign.
Denali
Our designated hotel in the Denali area for September 9 and 10 is the Denali Bluffs Hotel. Their Mountaineer Grill is open 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Lots of other eateries should be open as well.
Denali Bluffs have assured us they would accommodate our group. The booking agent handles 3 other hotels in the area. If the Bluffs fills up some WAML members may be in different hotels.
They require payment in advance. Therefore, you will have to pay WAML and we will add your name to the list as registration forms come in.
