Thursday September 8

- MapTeach: a project incorporating native knowledge into several

- Mapping anthropological sites and native place names, Robert
Drozda, UAF
- Alaska maps in K-12 education, Roger Pearson, retired, UAF
PM - Business Meeting / Sounding Board
- Local tour: UAF Discovery Lab (High tech 3-D contour and data
presentations).
- Historical maps from the UAF Archives
- Dinner at the Pump House Restaurant (Gold Rush theme)
Friday September 9
- Train to Denali National Park (round trip fare
included in the registration).
- Afternoon session at the Murie Science and Learning
Center
- "Mapping the Arctic Refuge: the Legacy of Ernestde Koven Leffingwell"
Janet Collins, Western Washington University
- Park scientist on topic TBA pertaining to Denali National Park
- Hotel for Friday and Saturday night about a mile outside the
park (price included in the registration). They will provide
shuttle service.
Saturday September 10
- All day bus trip inside the park. You will
be responsible for making and paying for your own reservation through
the official Park Service reservation system.
- Informal supper get together at a pizza place in the tourist area.
Sunday September 11
- AM on your own.
- Train back to Fairbanks leaving about 3:45.
