Cataloging News Back to top

New Maps & Web Sites of Interest
  • News about exciting new map projects in Portland and Utah, reported by Ken Rockwell.
  • Check out PLATIAL , a very fun web site. It gives users the ability to create personal maps on the Web. You can create an open map, to which anyone can contribute, or a closed map that includes only places you've added yourself. It's said to run more slowly on Internet Explorer than on Firefox. In true Web 2.0 fashion, you can add other people's places to your own maps, or vice versa. Check out their 2007 awards to see some great maps. Platial's headquarters are in Portland.
