About Us

The UC Santa Cruz library collects U.S. Federal and California State government information. UCSC was designated as a selective depository of U.S. government information in 1963. We receive depository materials in print, electronic, online, and microform formats and provide free public access to all materials received through the Federal Depository Library Program and the California State Document Depository Library Program.

FDLP Policies

We provide free public access to information resources in all formats received through the Federal Depository Library Program . For information on Reference services, please see the "Contact Us" section on this page.

Services are available for patrons with disabilities. If you need accommodation, please call the Circulation Desk at (831) 459-5185.

Most publications received through the FDLP are located on the 2nd floor of McHenry Library in the U.S. Docs area. Maps received through the FDLP can be accessed in the Map Room at the Science & Engineering Library. CD-ROMs and Microform materials are located in the Gov Pubs CD Cabinet and the Gov Pubs Microfiche Cabinet on the 2nd floor of McHenry Library near the reference desk. Please ask staff for assistance with the Gov Pubs CD Cabinet.
