LAUC Executive Board Meeting Minutes

May 6, 2004

Present: Greg Careaga (Chair), Annette Marines (General Committee Chair), Sheila O'Hare (Secretary)

1. Announcements: The UL search will be reopened.

Fall Assembly: UCSC is tentatively scheduled to host. UCB has also expressed interest in hosting the meeting.

2. Chair's Report: At the last conference call, Linda Kennedy reported on a new letter to the ULs regarding the barrier step to distinguished librarian status.

Spring Assembly: May 13. Careaga and Lyons will attend.

3. General Committee Chair's Report: Planning for the election of next year's Executive Board members has begun. Marines, Hubble, and Remak-Honnef are the members of an ad hoc committee to solicit candidates.

4. R&PD Report (Lyons): Librarians will attend several conferences in the near future, including CARL, Spring Assembly, and ALA.
