LAUC-SC Executive Council Meeting Minutes January 6, 9:00am McHenry room 325 In attendance: Ken Lyons (Chair), Lucia Orlando (Vice-Chair/Chair Elect), Christy Caldwell (General Committee Chair), Sue Perry (Secretary) 1. Announcements None 2. Chair's Report (Lyons) LAUC President Terry Huwe is preparing draft guidelines for the LAUC position/white papers. They should be distributed to the membership this month. The call for papers will focus on copyright/fair use and privacy. Lyons will be talking to the Academic Senate's Committee on the Library regarding possible librarian membership on relevant faculty senate committees. 3. Vice Chair's Report Local R&PD requests are coming in for ALA Mid-Winter and other conferences. 4. CAPA Chair's Report None 5. General Committee Report Caldwell and the library's Cultural Diversity Committee are negotiating a final date and agenda for a workshop with UCI AUL Judy Kaufman. Potential topics for other presentations this year include meeting the new Chancellor, eScholarship, alternative publishing models, and the Public Library of Science with MacArthur Grant winner Joseph DeRisi. 6.
