** If you are looking for a yearbook for UCSC, the subject heading above of University of California, Santa Cruz -- Alumni and Alumnae would be the one to search. UCSC does not have official yearbooks or annuals, but some classes did put together their own yearbooks or "reunion memory books."
An advanced search tip is to use the "University of California, Santa Cruz" main subject heading and add the name of an academic department, campus office, or college as a sub-heading. For example, try a search in CRUZCAT for University of California, Santa Cruz -- [name of college].

Currents was a weekly newspaper from the UC Santa Cruz Public Information Office. Includes searchable online archive back to 1996. It is now an online site called UCSC News & Events, published by UCSC Communications and Marketing.

UC Santa Cruz Review is a series of administrative publications published in September, November, March, and April by University Relations at UCSC. Includes Alumni News and Notes. Includes archives of issues back to 1992.
- Santa Cruz Public Library Newspaper Clippings File

This database is an index to the Santa Cruz Public Libraries' newspaper clipping file (link to source list). The clipping file is a large collection of articles of local interest which have been gathered from a variety of newspapers. The articles range in date from the early 1900s to the present. This is not intended as a complete index to any given newspaper and its contents do not necessarily represent every article that may have been written on a particular subject.
Many of the clippings listed here are undated and others do not indicate a source. The clippings themselves can be found in the Reference Department of the SCPL Central Branch. Subject area(s): General Subjects. Covers: Early 1900s-present.

Includes California newspapers such as the San Jose Mercury News (1985-current), San Francisco Chronicle (1985-current), Salinas Californian (2002-current), Sacramento Bee (1984-current), Monterey County Herald (2002-current), and many more. Allows simultaneous regional newspaper searches. Coverage varies depending on newspaper title.
- Santa Cruz Sentinel Available online to all Web users
The full text of the Santa Cruz County newspaper, free of charge and searchable. Includes searchable online archive of Sentinel articles back to August 14, 1999.
- San Jose Mercury News Available online
The full text of the current day's newspaper and seven previous days are available, free of charge and searchable. The archives of the newspaper (1985-present) are searchable free of charge, though the site charges a fee to view the complete text of these articles. Access the San Jose Mercury News Online Archive.
- Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost) Available online to UC faculty, students, and staff
A searchable database with citations and abstracts for journal articles covering all academic disciplines. Full text is available for more than 50% of the articles in this database. Subject areas: art and art history, general subjects, humanities, science and engineering, social sciences.
- ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) Database Available online to UC faculty, students, and staff
Use UC-eLinks to find full text of ERIC documents. Searchable database with citations and abstracts of papers, articles, books, and government publications on education. Full text is available for ERIC documents published after 1997. Published by Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA).

- Calisphere Available online to all Web users
Searchable and browsable collection of primary sources documenting California history. Provided by the California Digital Library from collections in UC Libraries.

- Regional History Project
The Regional History Project, an outstanding resource for researching the history of UCSC, has been documenting the history of the Central Coast of California and the institutional history of UC Santa Cruz since 1963, through the recording and transcription of oral history. This Web site includes the complete catalog of their collection, oral-history resources, and links to other oral-history sites online.
- UCSC Special Collections and University Archives
The University Library's Special Collections unit is the principal repository for the UCSC campus and for local publications focusing on the region of Santa Cruz County. The University Archives acquires and preserves records and related historical information that documents the campus’s programs and activities. Strong holdings of local historic photographs--from aerial views of the Northern California coastline to depictions of the city of Santa Cruz at the turn of the century--can also be found.
- Mary Lea Shane Archives of the Lick Observatory
The Mary Lea Shane Archives of the Lick Observatory include records from 1870-1945, correspondence, copybooks, diaries, logs, papers of the observatory’s directors, and extensive photographic holdings.
- Online Archive of California (OAC)
The is a statewide digital resource that integrates into a single, searchable database, finding aids to and digital facsimiles of the contents of primary-resource collections throughout California.
- UCSC Map Collection
The University Library Map Collection contains more than 160,000 items, including the region's largest and most comprehensive collection of books, reports, original maps, and aerial photographs depicting UCSC and the local area.
- The CRUZCAT — Maps & Atlases feature lets you do a search limited to maps and atlases in the UCSC library catalog. For example: keywords "cowell ranch"; subject search "university of california santa cruz -- aerial photographs."
- UCSC Visual Resource Collection
The Visual Resource Collection includes over 300,000 slides from all disciplines, time periods, and most cultural groups. SlideCat, the Visual Resource Collection's catalog database, provides online access to the Collection's content.

- KZSC 88.1FM
KZSC is a non-commercial, educational public radio station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to the University of California. It began in 1967, and serves the UCSC campus and community listening audience by broadcasting news, public affairs, music, entertainment, and spoken- word programming as well as broadcasts and information about various UCSC campus events and issues to Santa Cruz County and the greater Monterey Bay area.
