Membership Benefits

Friends of the UCSC Library membership benefits include borrowing privileges for one year at McHenry Library and the Science and Engineering Library, access to the ProQuest Research Library, the Friends newsletter, invitations to special events and receptions, and notice of Friends programs and library exhibits. Members at the higher levels also receive additional benefits such as behind-the-scenes tours and permanent recognition in McHenry Library.

Borrowing privileges are outlined in the
UCSC Library Lending Code for Courtesy Borrowers summary. For further information on borrowing privileges, please contact Circulation at (831) 459-5185.

Membership in the Friends of the UCSC Library does not give you interlibrary loan privileges or remote access to the library's licensed online resources. However, you can access these resources in the library at a library workstation. The CRUZCAT and MELVYL® library catalogs are available remotely.
