Memorial Altares Exhibit
Gloria Anzaldúa, author of Borderlands: La Frontera and co-editor of This Bridge Called My Back among other publications, was a visionary feminist philosopher and writer. She was a lecturer in women's studies at UC Santa Cruz where she influenced a generation of students before her untimely death in May, 2004. Special Collections and Archives is the new home for the altares, which were at the heart of Anzaldúa's writing practice; this exhibit features the altar objects in the context of her writing.
