Chinese Language Databases

• Chinese Journal Network/Chinese Academic Journals
  Click on IP-address Access to enter the database. This searchable database contains the full text and full images of 1,710 journals journals published in China in the Literature/History/Philosophy, Economics/Politics/Law, and Education/Social Science academic disciplines. Technical note: The site displays Chinese characters and can only be viewed using IE or Netscape 6+. In order to view full-text, users must download a Windows-only application (CAJViewer). • Naxos Music Library - Naxos Music Library provides online access to the complete Naxos, Marco Polo and Dacapo catalogues of over 85,000 tracks, including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music. Access is also provided to liner notes and other textual information, and playlists for classroom or personal use can be created. Technical requirements are given at the site. • Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries - Electronic database of approximately 35,000 tracks of world music and sound recordings from the archives of Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, with audio selections cross-referenced to a database of supplementary reference information.
