Government Publications and Law Collections in the McHenry Library Addition:
The Government Publications collection, including US Docs, Cal Docs, and Gov Pubs Ref Census, is located on the 2nd Floor (Reference Floor) in McHenry Library.
The McHenry Library Reference Desk offers assistance for Government Publications and Law queries from the main Reference desk. During the Academic year, service is available from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Fridays and 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Check the

for service hours outside the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters.

The UCSC library is a depository for Federal and State publications, and receives CD-ROMs from many of their agencies. All CD-ROMs are listed in
CRUZCAT
, the library catalog.
Selected CD-ROMs are available on the Government Publications CD-ROM workstation, located in the Government Publications Reference Area. A CD-ROM installed on this workstation will show Gov Pubs Ref CD in the location field in
CRUZCAT
.
CD-ROMs not available on this workstation may be installed by request. CD-ROMs which need to be installed will show Gov Pubs CD in the location field in
CRUZCAT
.

Some CD-ROMs are issued with a publication, usually inside the back cover. If the publication circulates, the CD-ROM can be installed on a home computer. If the publication is identified as Library Use Only, the CD-ROM will need to be installed on a library computer.
Request a CD-ROM installation:
Installation requests for CD-ROM titles may be made via phone or email. CD-ROMs are usually installed within 24 hours (excluding weekends). However, it may take longer if there are unforeseen technical issues.
Include the title of the CD-ROM and SuDoc (federal) or Caldoc (state) call number if known.
